Volunteers are vital to the success of educating the students of Jordan School District. Each year thousands of volunteers spend a considerable amount of their own time assisting students in reading, writing and mathematics or in other support roles.
If you are interested in volunteering in one of Jordan School District’s schools, you may:
- Contact the main office at any JSD school for volunteer opportunities; or
- You may contact the District's Human Resource office and we will be glad to assist you in finding volunteer opportunities.
All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer Application and submit it to the school office. A separate application must be completed for each school you may be interested in volunteering at. A new application must be completed annually.
All volunteers who have "significant unsupervised access" to children, as determined by the school principal, must be fingerprinted and clear a criminal background check, at no cost to them, before they may volunteer.
Anyone interested in being an assistant coach must first complete an online application. Applicants must select which sport/activity(s) they are interested in coaching and which school(s) they would like to work at.
When a position becomes available, the schools will view all applications online. The schools are responsible to select the candidate that most closely meets their staffing needs.
If an applicant is selected to be an assistant coach, they must attend an Onboarding Appointment scheduled by the school. All new employee paperwork will be completed online through Employee Access. An applicant must also be fingerprinted. There is a charge to the applicant. Once all information is complete the school will be notified the coach is eligible to begin working.
