Internships – Teaching

RaNisha GloverBeing an intern teacher allows you to experience your first year as a teacher with a ton of mentor support!

It’s your chance to take everything school has taught you and put it into practice with your kiddos! All with the additional help and support of an intern coach! Being an intern was one of the best and hardest experiences I have ever had!

Jordan School District appreciates the partnership it shares with all our local colleges and universities. We believe that by working together we can help to encourage and prepare quality teachers to inspire and educate the rising generations of learners. We provide a variety of options for students on the pathway to teaching with Internship, Student Teaching and Practicum opportunities.

Teaching Internships - Typically an interview process assists the selection committee for Elementary and Secondary intern candidates. Interns will teach for an entire school year and will receive half salary and full benefits as they are an employee of Jordan School District. Mentoring and support are provided each intern to ensure success during their first year of teaching.

Counselor Internships - A screening interview with Holly Bell will place you in our candidate pool.

School Psychologist Internships - A screening interview with Dr. Fulvia Franco will give you an opportunity to work with 1-2 schools over the course of the year. JSD is a member of APPIC.
